Updates to the RLI State Laser Safety Contacts DatabaseIn 1999, RLI founder Jim Rockwell published a paper for the International Laser Safety Conference titled "State and Local Government Laser Safety Requirements". The paper was very well received, and as a result, RLI published the first database of State Laser Safety Contacts on the RLI website. Over the last 20 years, RLI has continued to update this information as more states have added regulations, mostly for registration and to reference ANSI standards, and on the medical side for plume evacuation. The RLI team updated the information during COVID with the intent to present a paper at the 2021 ILSC®, marking the 20th anniversary of Jim's original paper. Unfortunately, the conference has now been postponed until the Feb. 2022, and we hope to be able to present it in Portland then. For more information about state laser safety contacts and regulations, please contact an RLI representative via email or call us at (800) 94-LASER. |
