RLI Consultant Ben Rockwell Honored as AFRL Fellow

Dr. Benjamin Rockwell of the Human Effectiveness Directorate has been named one of the Air Force Research Laboratory's (AFRL) 2009 Fellows. This award is the highest honor bestowed upon our scientists and engineers in recognition of their technical excellence and outstanding contributions to the AFRL's research and development programs. 
 
Dr. Rockwell is an international leader in the understanding and characterization of ultra-short laser pulse interactions with biological materials. His work has led directly to international exposure standards and has paved the way for Air Force implementation of directed energy concepts. 


RLI Welcomes Scott Linzy to the Team
 

RLI is pleased to announce that Scott Linzy, has joined RLI as Medical Sales Director. Scott brings eight years of results-oriented senior level management in sales, business development, and client services. His experience as a territory manager in new laser technologies for hospitals and physicians, and as a corporate trainer and laser safety officer has made him a subject matter expert for many medical laser platforms.
 
Scott participated in Operation Desert Storm while serving in the United Stated Navy where he was awarded the Surface Warfare Specialist Medal, two letters of accommodation and served as a firefighter.

RLI Attends 5th Annual Advances Laser Safety Officer Workshop

The 5th Annual Advances Laser Safety Officer Workshop was hosted by the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA on August 4-6, 2009.  Bill Ertle, President of RLI, gave a presentation about RLI's upcoming updated Laser Incident Database. The database has been revamped to contain more detail and catalogs over 2000 laser safety incidents.
