Meets The State of Arizona Radiation Regulatory Agency (16-TS-009)
This 40 hour course is designed and approved by Arizona State to specifically meet the requirements as described by Arizona's Radiation Administrative Code Title 12, Chapter 1. This course provides a comprehensive education of the cosmetic use of Lasers, Intense Pulsed Light, Radiofrequency and Thermal devices. The 40 hours of didactic instructions details the laser/light science, biophysics, and radiation fundamentals along with specific safety control measures for each technology.
Course curriculum will also prepare the attendee for the role of the Medical Laser Safety Officer as detailed in ANSI Z136.3 2011. Nonbeam hazards, technical considerations, classification of lasers along with procedural, engineering, and administrative controls will also be reviewed. Criteria for evaluation of Nominal Hazard Zones (NHZ) and the Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) along with patient management, education, and treatment protocols are thoroughly discussed.
In order to become a successful cosmetic provider, intensive instruction of client consultation techniques, indications and contraindications, and pre and post treatment care are provided. Examination of laser/light protocols for hair and tattoo removal plus pigment-vascular lesions treatments are conducted for attendees. A discussion of the latest technology for IPL / laser use for facial contouring, tightening, wrinkle reduction, and improvement of facial lesions are reviewed using pulsed and fractional devices. Furthermore, multiple modalities and outcomes are examined concerning body contouring and fat lipolysis.
Through lectures and discussion, participants will obtain clinical, technical and administrative information essential to the development of a comprehensive, compliant, and effective aesthetic program.
