RLI Teams Up With EWI and Telesis to Host
Hands-On LSO Training

RLI has teamed up with the Edison Welding Institute and Telesis to offer a special Hands-On Laser Safety Officer Training course in Columbus, Ohio from July 25th-27th, 2012.

Through our partnership with the Edison Welding Institute and Telesis, the participants are able to test their understanding of both laser hazards and controls by examining laser laboratories where laser hazards are intentionally present. Students will review a laboratory with respect to laser safety. The findings of this review will be presented and discussed in class. This unique hands-on portion of the course allows the participants to gain confidence and experience in evaluating real-world laser hazards.

In conjunction with this course, we are also hosting our Principles of Lasers course the day before, on July 24, 2012. This is a good course to take if you are new to lasers or you need to refresh your basic laser knowledge.

RLI Names Darrell Seeley VP of Education and Consulting Services

Darrell Seeley, Certified LSO, has been named Vice President of Education and Consulting Services. In this role, he will be responsible for facilitating strategic planning processes and implementing business strategies that are needed to achieve Rockwell's growth goals.

"Darrell has over 20 years of experience working in laser safety and has successfully operated his own business as owner of Laser Safety Consulting, LLC," said Bill Ertle, President of Rockwell Laser Industries. "He will play an important role in positioning Rockwell Laser Industries for a successful future."

Darrell is well known in the laser safety community for his training and consulting work and also his involvement as a member of the ANSI Z136 Accredited Standards Committee and various Z136 subcommittees. He is a past-recipient of the R. James Rockwell Award for his work in laser safety education.
